DIY : bracelet holder

Hi ,

Today I made a few new bracelets and I was thinking that I didn't have enough space to store them. So I thought that maybe I could make a bracelet holder. I'm happy with the result and that's why I show you how to make one.

First you have to look for some material. You can find a lot of material in your house.You need one big role and a small one. I used the inside role of the towel in the kitchen and the inside role of the toilet paper. You also need some drapery to put over the roles. The pictures below show you the material.

let's start 

step 1 :  Take the small role and the drapery. Put the drapery under the role. Then you put some glue on the drapery and put it around the small role.

 If you do that really slow and carefully you will have the best result. After that the result must be like this 

step 2 : make a hole in the big role as big as the diameter of small role. ( see the picture below ) Use the same method to put the drapery around the role as in step 1 . Don't glue the drapery around the hole because it has to be open so that you can put the small role in it.

step 3 : put the small role in the hole of the big role . Now you have your own bracelet holder. As you can see the holder is really light. If you put a lot of bracelets around it , it will lose his balance. To solve this problem you need to put some weight in the small role. I used a empty perfume bottle en filled it with water.

Amigurumi

Hi ,

A few weeks ago I started to try something new : amigurmi .
what's that ? well here you have a definition I found on wikipedia :

Amigurumi (編みぐるみ^?, lit. crocheted or knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.^[1] Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features,^[2] as is typical in Japanese culture.

So I thought that it would be easy , but it isn't. You have to be really focused so that you don't make any mistake. My first ami wasn't really good because of that I didn't made a picture of it. My second one was much better. I made miffy ( In belgium know a nijntje). It's a small ami of 10 cm high. I didn't found a pattern for this so I made one by myself. My last ami was also miffy , but a bigger one of 28 cm high and with a skirt. 

I you wanna know how you have to make this ami's I can show you some tips and tricks but I can't give you my pattern for free.

snow time

hi,

The winter arrived  in Belgium. There is like 10 cm snow. Because of that I took my camera to make some pictures. The models today were my dog stitch and my lovely horses. I really love this cold winter. Everything is white and the sun is shining all day. I made some new earrings and they fit really well in the snow theme. They are like little shinny snowballs. It are earrings with a lot of glitter.

my after exam creations

Hi ,

Today is another day . I had an exam this morning and after that I really like relaxing. Then plan was to go shopping with my best friend , but he went to the dentist and wasn't able to talk a lot. Because of that  I decided to make some new creations. It took me the whole afternoon. I made two bracelets and one necklace.

Maybe you remember the skull earrings I made this weekend , well the skulls of this bracelet match with the earrings . I think that the skulls and the golden theme work perfect together.
The second bracelet is just a simple one , but simple can be really cute. The green stone in the middle in combination with the vintage rose peals is totally in right now.

after all that I made a simple necklace by using a strass pendant.

Now I'm going to sleep because I'm really tired after all this work

weekend creations

Hi

Today I have to study a lot so I don't have a lot of time to make jewels. This weekend I made 2 pair of earrings.

I really love my first pair. They are made of swarovski peals. I really like swarovski peals because the quality is very good and they look so natural . They are really shiny. I love them ! It looks like the earrings are really heavy but actually they aren't. They are perfect and thanks to there black colour you can match them with almost every outfit.

My second pair is totally different , it's bigger but at the same time simple. They are gold so they are totally fashionable. I like the skull theme because it's something different and it can rock your outfit. I made them 10 cm long , because if they where smaller they will not have the same effect.

Hope you like my new creations and tomorrow I'm trying to make earrings with shamballa pearls

DIY : making a cabochon necklace with picture

hi ,

Today I do my first DIY.
I decided to show how to make a cabochon necklace with any picture you want. For this tutorial you don't have to be good at making jewels and all that stuff, you just have to be good with glue. the picture below show you with material I used for making the necklace.

Here you have a list of all the material :
- cabochon setting ( round , oval ...,)
- cabochon cab or cabochon glass ( oval are 18 mm at 25 mm) ( round are 15 mm)
- necklace ( same color as your cabochon setting)
- glue ( I used nexus glue from bison ) , but you can use any superglue.
- picture ( you can buy standard pictures online , but you can make them by yourself.
- circles ( to put the cabochon setting and the necklace together)

let's start !

step 1
You take one cabochon setting ( I used the oval one ) and a picture in the same format as the inside space of the setting. You can buy the pictures online , but you can make them to. If you want to make them at home you just need some photo paper and a scissor. You chose your picture and print it out ( be sure that you picture is small enough to fit in the setting. then you take the cabochon glass and put it above the picture . after all that you cut the picture in the format of the glass. This is what the result has to look like.

step 2 :
You put the picture in the setting

step 3 :
you take the cabochon setting with picture and glue it together. ( You put the glue on the picture and then you place the glass above it. Wait a few minutes to be sure that it's dry. If you have some glue residues, you can remove them with nail varnish remover.

step 4 :
When your setting is dry and clean you take a necklace and put a circle on it. ( you can do that with pliers). If you don't have a professional one , just borrow one of your dad's tool box.

little things from 2012

hi, 

Normally I write in Dutch, but because a lot of people who read my blog come from other countries, I decided to write my blog in english.

So my second message is about my collection of 2012. I want to show you some creations that I made last  year. Some of them were a big success. The first pair of earrings are called : " mystery ". I decided to give them that name because I think they look a little bit like some diamond mystery. Maybe it's because of the picture. It's a picture that I made myself and I'm proud of it. Now you can buy them for 5 EUR. My favorites of 2012 were the black ones. They didn't have a name because I made them for myself. They are made of swarovski peals and rhinestones. 

I would say have a look at my choices of 2012. Maybe you like them maybe not. It's up to you. 
Tomorrow it's Saturday what means : DIY ( do it yourself). I decided to do a DIY one Saturday in a month.

jewels are a girls best friend

Bloggen, het is een trend die iedereen ondertussen wel al kent. Aangezien ik al even bezig met mijn lot's collection op facebook leek het mij een goed idee om mijn ervaringen hierover te bloggen. Lot's collection is mijn manier van creatief bezig zijn. Het is een uit de hand gelopen hobby.

Alles begon ooit met het herstellen van juwelen voor mijn oma en mama. Door hiermee bezig te zijn kreeg ik het idee om zelf juweeltjes te maken. Ik zocht op diverse internet sites en forums naar geschikte materialen en technieken. De wereld van juwelen maken is zo groot & uitgebreid. Stap voor stap werd ik meer en meer vertrouwt met dit alles.

Daarom richt in nu deze blog op speciaal voor jullie , om jullie mee te nemen naar de wereld waar alles mogelijk is , waar grote meisjes zich als prinsesjes voelen.
